These photographs are the work of Krzysztof Poplawski, and the rights to them stay with him. Publishing them here gives nobody the right to use them: they are free to look at, which is not quite the same as free to use. Each file carries his name and a copyright notice.

Restrictions

Not without written permission:

• Downloading or copying a photograph for anything but your own private use.
• Publishing or embedding it somewhere else — another website, a social media account, a printed publication.
• Showing it publicly — in a video, a stream, a presentation or an exhibition.
• Cropping it, editing it or changing it.
• Removing the watermark or the copyright notice.
• Presenting it as your own work, or crediting it to someone else.
• Using it to train AI or machine learning models, or adding it to a dataset.
• Using it commercially, or selling prints or products with it on them.

A credit, kind as it is, is not the same as permission — so if one of these is what you had in mind, the next section is all you need.

Permission and licensing

Every photograph here can be licensed — just ask. The answer is often yes — frequently at no charge for editorial, cultural and non-profit work.

Say which photograph you mean, where it would appear, for how long, and whether money is involved. That is enough for a straight answer, usually a quick one.

Permission is given in writing and covers the use it describes. It is yours alone, and it does not include passing the photograph on to someone else.
